James 1:22-27The Message (MSG)

22-24 Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear! Those who hear and don’t act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like.

25 But whoever catches a glimpse of the revealed counsel of God—the free life!—even out of the corner of his eye, and sticks with it, is no distracted scatterbrain but a man or woman of action. That person will find delight and affirmation in the action.

26-27 Anyone who sets himself up as “religious” by talking a good game is self-deceived. This kind of religion is hot air and only hot air. Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world.

James 1>>>>> is a great representation of how we as Christians should live our lives. If we are TRULY desiring to live as Jesus did it will come with struggles and hardships. Jesus was constantly snarled at, looked down upon, and mocked by many. All of us are called to live lives worthy of the calling God has placed on our life. That calling is the calling of living like his Gods son Jesus. To take on his cross. To die to ourselves daily so that he may live in us.

That brings up another topic. Self evaluation or "how well is your soul" questions. Let's just get honest. We aren't perfect and we all have struggles, but right now I just wanna challenge you to sit down one on one with God and ask him, " Lord what are my struggles?", "God why do I struggle with this?", " God, reveal to me what drives these struggles." Im telling you right now, HONESTLY, this brings so much light into your life. By focusing on areas that you struggle with it helps it become easier to live, love, and look like Jesus, and thats all God wants for and from you.
